“Be Brave” Let the brick wall fall, Let crumble to pieces excuses, And brightly bare it all, For the light is never hidden forever, And the flame never dies when it fights to live, Don't hide away amidst a dimming grey, For the sun shall shine anew, every day, And when darkness fills your sight, The stars in the sky conquer the night, Let breathe the fire in your chest, And dare to live loving, not like the rest, Count your blessings and weather the test, Let go of the anguish of strife, And God provides the best, Show up for life, and God provides the rest. ©Mary Spotted Eagle Woman Roberts I've been really digging into the truth and understanding that God provides lately, and this poem is expressive of that beautiful realization. --------------- “God provides.” is a statement that has been absently passed around by many a believer in Jesus, but the frequency in which it is said but not truly heeded is curious, because it's so blindingly important. Consider this: the bible outlines constantly that God will provide what you need throughout it's entirety. Verses such as Philippians 4:19 “And my God will fully supply your every need according to his glorious riches in the Messiah Jesus.”, and many, many more that can be found here, express that God will always give you what you need. This statement is said when one stresses and/or deeply wants something. However, if we take a step to acknowledge the truth, not when something is desired, but when we evaluate our circumstances. Romans 8:28 tells us that we know that God uses all things for the good of those who love him and those called according to his purpose, so that takes care of all the bad things that have ever or will ever happen to you. But what about your blessings? What about God's tender mercies that help you to get out of bed in the morning, that give you a sense of purpose, though immediate, and help you to actually get up the gumption to live? We know that God is everything that is good, He does what is good, just, and loving, so every good thing that has happened to you ever has been a gift from God. You see, God has already provided, and continues to do so. Understanding this, urgency, worry, fear, want, seem all very useless. But when we want something, no, crave something so deeply it hurts, we have to worry about it like we have the power to get what we think we want? No, that is incorrect. You ever notice how some ventures and pursuits flow beautifully to the desired goal, where as others are like running through quick dry cement and you either never get there or you get there by losing something dear in the process? Nothing is done lest God wants it to be, all's we can do is align ourselves with God's will and take root in that path, for there is no healing & growth, otherwise. When we do finally align with God's will, instead of trying to carry out our selfishness upon the world, we are given even more gifts from God. And they don't have to be fancy or grandiose, these gifts could simply be a lovely sip of coffee when you're too groggy to want to do anything, or the way a wildflower defiantly blooms amidst two concrete slabs, joyful conversation with someone that makes you glow with happiness, or even something so simple as smiling at another to receive a brighter smile back. When you get right down too it, what is truly important in life is not the things which will give you this false sense of wealth, power, or superiority. What matters is bravely answering God's call and doing what you know you were meant to do, despite the hardships that come to discourage, and choosing God's will over your selfishness that would have you greedy or cowardly. But once again, God provides, so there are no excuses to not be who you are called to be. The question is: will you choose to give yourself to all that is good or will you resign your potential to be wasted on a life being shackled to petty wants that are made to fade? Simply, as before, as always, God Provides, so don't worry, fear, succumb to want, and give into instant gratification. Instead, just take that step and go to God. In the Gospel according to John, he recounts how Jesus says first that whatsoever you ask of God, he will give it, but 3 times after that, he emphatically says that whosoever asks of something in his name, Jesus name, God will do. He states this 3 times. Maybe if we focused more on contributing to our individual relationships with God, instead of just seeing his ability to provide for us in the likeness of a store, we'd realize that he has always had us in his hands and knows everything that moves through our hearts, minds, and very spirits. He already truly knows, but have you realized it yet? Here is a video that will bring you some fervor, that not only recognizes God's powerful hand, but doesn't let you get away with excuses: ~Mary S.E.W. Roberts
